This catalogue accompanies the exhibition of the same name, on view at the Georgia Museum of Art Jan. 23–April 17, 2016, and organized by co-curators Dale L. Couch, Mary C. Scales English, and Janice Simon. All 45 objects in the exhibition (mostly baskets but also a slat-back chair with a woven seat and a scarf designed by Georgian Frankie Welch that pictures the Cherokee syllabary) are illustrated in full color. Essays by the curators and contributor Joseph Litts flesh out different aspects of these baskets, adding anthropological and collecting insights.
